Spring Break in Breckenridge,TX

So we traveled to Breck for Spring Break and had a blast. Mama sang This is the Day for us and the kids sang along. This was the first time that Lisa traveled with me and the kids, it was a blast and Lisa I am sure was exhausted after all that chaos!

Our typical schedule, wake up, ask Papa when can we go swimming, eat breakfast swim, play, go eat lunch at Ernies, come back and play and ask when can we swim again, rest, play, eat dinner, swim again, then pass out so tired! HA! Pretty much sums it up!




This is us planting wild flowers the day before we left - we got home and I made Whitaker wait a day before he called Mama to ask her if the flowers have bloomed yet.



Seriously every has to smile big when you get to have chocolate like this!

So Papa is researching his next book about the Bible and the kids loved to watch him sit and work and take notes and then they feel like they too have alot of things to write down.




So Papa thought it would be fun to teach Whitaker and Brinley to drive the golf cart. I mean all 9 of us grandkids all learned how to drive by starting on a golf cart so seem logical but I have to say I don't recall any of us being 3 and 4. He did let them drive out on the grass and Lisa and I were rolling on the ground laughing because they hit trees, ditches, bumps!!

Swimming - our favorite past time! Oh not Creighton's but everyone else loved it

Thank you Mama and Papa for letting us totally wreck your house and your schedule! Now Mama you can watch Glenn Beck without us running around.

Snow Fun!!!!

Finally - got Creighton situated with candy and cupcakes and of course a big cup of milk. He loved sitting at the end of the table and watching all the activity

Nicholas and his "ghetto"bread house - it was great and Christine brought the peeps trees, reindeer and snowmen that made all the houses look cuter!! This is Nicole figuring out which jelly bean she likes.

We are thankful this Holiday Season for our friends who love us and love growing up with us! It is so much more fun to do it with fun friends and cool moms!!!

Ski Trip to Red River!!!

This was our view from our front porch of the house. Totally a blast!!! We drove down on Wednesday to Amarillo and then the rest of the way on Thursday. All three kids were great in the car!!! I had books on CD that I got from Scholastic - if you take road trips this is awesome!!! They listen to all of them and loved it!!!

I thought it would be fun to get a picture of all three kids in matchy-matchy clothes so much for that!!!



Snowball fight!! Whitaker had been wanting to have one and the snow was too powdery so while we were climbing up the hill behind the Claim Jumper sign Greg put together some hard snowballs! Brinley clearly hated it. She did not like the snow touching her face, hands, feet - she would start crying!




The first morning we got there we did snow angels in the untouched snow next to us. Yes that is me laying down doing one too. KK got the kids some fun skiing hats!!!




Creighton on the front porch - he pretty much did not leave this area, front porch and the house. He like being carried around and walking around the cabin and front porch but the minute you put all the clothes on him, he felt tied down and did not feel comfortable walking around. In the other picture, Whitaker climbed this humongo pile of snow. Whitaker loved the snow, he would just be walking by it and just throw himself in it.It was hilarious!!! We could be walking and I would push him in the snow and he would laugh. When we got back I asked him if he was happy to be home and he said "No I want to go back skiing and playing in the snow." Greg asked him the same thing that night at bedtime and he said "NO I want to go back and ski."


Ski School!!! The Pizza Boy (snowplow aka pizza for young kids) wanted to ski all morning and then go down with Daddy in the afternoon!! He could not get enough of this. He mastered the lift. On our last day his instructor let him and his friend that he met at ski school ride by themselves and we watched from a distance. So as I was somewhat thinking he was going to fall out of the lift and into the snow he did not - and then came the dismount from the lift and he did great- did not fall - skied over to the right and wa-la stayed on his feet!! We were all very excited for him as that is the worst part of skiing for me at least - the fear of falling off the lift and having to stop it for everyone!!



KK came with us and hangout at the cabin with Creighton - she was awesome cooked and hung out - what a grandma!

Turkey Trot!!!

This year was a small crowd for us at the Turkey Trot but it was still fun. Whitaker and Gayle went at a 8 minute - mile pace and Lisa and I and Creighton and Brinley were at a 11 minute mile pace. Doug was between all of us and Greg was at home sick with flu stuff! Yuck!!
